A true roofing professional should be able to come up several alternative ways to ventilate your particular roof & soffit system. We require our customers to allow us to look in the attic of their home before we contract with them to do a roof replacement or a small repair. This tells us a lot about the house, for instance, the way it was constructed, and the way the attic is ventilated or not ventilated. Many kitchen & bathroom exhaust vents are vented improperly and cause unwanted moisture to build up in this space. This moisture that will cause mold and mildew to build inside your house leading to many potential health risks. In our opinion, if a roofing contractor is not looking in your attic before the job is bid he is not properly doing his job and is doing the homeowner a great injustice! You can tell a lot about your contractor before you even get his price. Remember: Your roofing job is only as good as your contractor!
